Key 'Taboo' Issues To Be Addressed With 'On The Couch' Sessions at Glasstalk
The programme has been announced for the next GlassTalk and guests can expect some fireworks when the event’s ‘On the Couch’ sessions address a number of key issues that have proved controversial this year. Of these perhaps the most emotive will be that of glass prices and Steve Sutherland of Dortech, who placed the petition on the 10 Downing Street website which called for ‘Lord Mandleson to investigate glass pricing activities currently being taken by the dominant glass suppliers to the UK’, will be On the Couch together with key industry representatives, to thrash out the biggest issue to affect the industry this year.
Dave Ruzicka, joint managing director of super-fabricator Sash UK will also be joining GlassTalk On the Couch. Dave has a strong view about everything but some of his more outspoken comments will appeal to anyone that has a problem with ‘Phoenix’ operators, ‘dominant’ systems suppliers, cut-throat, cut-price fabricators – and a whole lot more.
Another confirmed guest is Chris Ball of MBA Associates, who has much to say about why companies fail – and how to prevent it; some rather ‘off the wall’ thoughts on recruitment and ‘human resources’; and a great deal else. Interestingly, Chris’s opinions are honed through relationships with the industry’s biggest operators in all sectors – is there anyone that he hasn’t worked for? We will do our best to prise some secrets from him.
Finally, the organisers are expecting confirmation of whether they may expect one of the giants of the industry to join them; the invitation has been issued and discussions are taking place, say the organisers: “There has been a great deal of interest from industry experts and company owners to come and join us ‘On the Couch’,” explained Andrew Glover, a director of GlassTalk. “We are finalising the programme now and are just waiting for confirmation of whether one of the industry’s biggest players will join us,” he added.
Glasstalk Programme Announced: Key ‘Taboo’ Issues To Be Addressed With On The Couch Sessions. The bulk of the programme is made up with the increased number of Speed Networking sessions which, for this event, will be slicker and organised to prevent duplication.
GlassTalk will take place on November 3rd 2009 at Daresbury Park Hotel, Cheshire.
